Flo McGarrell

Flo McGarrell has spent the last year developing a sustainable life specific
to living in Roswell, through sculptural experiments and systems
that encompass scavenging, gardening, composting, cooking and
preserving - all of which are "open sourced" as online and offline
recipes. Flo's previous body of work consists of architecturally
scaled inflatable sculptures, film, video, and new media projects.
Flo received an MA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and and MFA from the S
chool of the Art Institute of Chicago, and enjoys teaching in many locales for a semester at a time, most recently in Jacmel, Haiti.

What Grew Out of What You Threw Out- Recipres from an Open Source Homestead

Flo has spent the last year at the Roswell Artist Residency in Roswell, New Mexico. He explored sculpture as a growing recipe for a sustainable life. The format of his concept is based off of the open sourcing that has grown out of an internet.
