Artist Statement

I love art and the many different components that make up the broad topic of art.  I am particularly interested in painting and drawing, which I have been intensely practicing for the past few years. Most of my work is from live set ups, such as nude models or still life’s.  I enjoy making figurative pieces, as well as literal pieces of artwork.  Although I am trying something new, called object design, which I find quite remarkable.  When I am painting or drawing I get absorbed in the act and hours can pass by with out me even realizing it.  I look for inspiration everywhere.  I am always paying attention to different objects or people around me that are perfect to captivate on a piece of paper.  I also believe you cannot force your creative energy.  It will come to you with practice, time, and patience.  There is always more to learn, especially with art.  It is an ongoing game with ever changing rules and it never gets boring.
