how is life in the noosphere?

have we abandoned our enchantment?

about, for now

i was born and raised in jacksonville, florida.
the hospital i was born in is now a starbucks
and a papa johns, among other things.
the st. johns river is across the street.
if you want to find me in the dictionary, look up
quixotic.

the politics of being from the american south
is an element that dominates my world-view.
harriet beecher stowe's winter home is
down the street from mine.
i mostly draw from the scientific world for my
works, but i want to push it in the direction of
southern gothic.

i prefer not to be contacted, and i am
not trying to sell you anything.
to live off the grid is my goal.
but for now, i live in chicago and jacksonville.

go here instead:

you'll wake my mother
she's sleeping here
right by my side
and in her right hand
a silver dagger
she says that i
can't be your bride
all men are false
says my mother
they'll tell you wicked
loving lies
the very next evening
they'll court another
leave you alone
to pine and sigh
my daddy is
a handsome devil
he's got a chain
five miles long
and on every link
a heart does dangle
of another maid
he's loved and wronged
go court another
tender maiden
and hope that she
will be your wife
for i've been warned
and i've decided
to sleep alone
all of my life
