vinnie de la paz was born in singapore. he has lived mostly in coastal towns, including portland, oregon and chicago, illinois. vinnie grew up in gresham oregon and currently lives and works in chicago, where he attends the school of the art institute.

the project "alphabet people" began on the 4th of june 2005. its roots are based in a collection of diagrams, cartoons, sitcom ideas, floor plans and short stories. the project continues to be an archive of the like. with interests towards domestic drama, family relations and banal necessities, alphabet people is a journal of fleeting moments.
