Independent Projects: Photography
Undergraduate Projects gives the student the opportunity to
explore a specific problem in the student’s area of concentration,
carried out independently but with a faculty adviser. A schedule of
conferences is usually established at the beginning of the semester.
Instructor signature required for registration. Open to students at
junior level and above.
PHOTO 4003
Advanced Photography/Individual Projects
Students propose individual projects which will be reviewed in individual
and group critiques. The students must be prepared to work independently,
have well formulated ideas, and be prepared to meet for group discussions.
Students must bring their portfolios the first day of class. Prerequisite:
6 credits of PHOTO 3005 and ARTHI 3621
PHOTO 4020
Architectural Photography
In this class, team-taught by the historic preservation and photography
departments, students will have the opportunity to work with an architectural
photographer and a faculty member from the historic preservation department.
The focus will be on Chicago area architecture and will involve field
trips. Students will use a variety of camera formats to determine which
is the most effective for each project. Prerequisite: PHOTO 1001.
