Intermediate Digital Photography I
This class is a continuation of the development of technical skills
introduced in the beginning classes as well as conceptual exploration.
Prerequisite: PHOTO 2004.

Intermediate Photography Themes
This course covers a wide range of aesthetic concerns which change according
to semester and faculty. Recent theme classes include: Autobiography;
Re-presenting Race; Sites/Trips/Events; Exploratory Media; To Dada Too;
Cultural Mythologies/Personal Realities; Strange Truth: Storytelling
in Pictures; and Activist Art/Cultural Activism; Performing
the Problematic; Sociality. Prerequisite: any 2000 level PHOTO
course.
PHOTO 3006
Let There Be Light
The quality of light can affect the content of an image in a dramatic
way. This class will concentrate on analyzing and controlling many types
of natural and artificial light in an in-depth examination of light
and how it affects the way we perceive the world through photography.
Students will become familiar with various lighting techniques to facilitate
goals and ideas. Much of the class will be taught in a workshop format.
During class, the photography classrooms will be used for individual
and small group projects and set-ups. Prerequisite: any 2000 level photo
course.
PHOTO 3075
Intermediate Digital Photography II
This course allows students to work on self-defined, personal imaging
projects while exploring related computer tools and software at more
advanced levels. Students are encouraged to develop new forms of output
for their traditional photographic images. The course explores diverse
forms for the organization and presentation of digital artwork. Emphasis
is on the application of personal computer imagery within various options
for end usage. The content of projects is determined individually in
consultation with the instructor. Critiques are conducted on both a
group and individual basis. Prerequisite: PHOTO 2004.
