1000 Level Photography Course Descriptions


PHOTO 1001
Photography I

Students are introduced to photographic equipment, materials, processes, and philosophy. The course will use black-and-white materials, small camera operation, roll film processing, enlarging, finishing, and presentation. Special emphasis is given to projects involving the development of camera vision and ideas. Students are required to have their own camera and light meter.


PHOTO 1002
Photography II

This course introduces color photographic materials including color negative/slides, applied color, and experimental color processes. Areas also covered are color theory, color printing, and copy techniques. Camera, light meter, and enlarging skills in photography are enhanced and reinforced. The class is designed to explore the inherent qualities of color processes so students learn to make informed decisions in their choice of process. Prerequisite: PHOTO 1001.
