The program curriculum combines tutorial aspects of graduate school with advanced seminars and workshops in literary craft. Students admitted to the program register for tutorials, workshops, and seminars with the faculty of the MFA in Writing program; they have the option to take one elective course per semester in any area of the School. Admission to the program is limited to students who show clear promise for advanced study in the literary arts. The program is designed as a full-time, two-semester program; students who wish to pursue the certificate on another basis must be approved by the post-baccalaureate program chair and the director of the writing program. Completion of the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Writing does not guarantee admission to the Master of Fine Arts in Writing program.
