Suggested admission of $5 for adults, $3 for seniors 65 and older and for students 13–22 and $1 for children 6–12. Free for members and children under 6. No General Admission charge on Mondays.
Location of work: On view in museum in first floor at the east end of building. Sometimes removed in event of special exhibition. Call for display status.


This painting features Abraham Lincoln looking down in deep contemplation. The painting faces east, and appears to have been installed in relationship to the bronze sculpture Lincoln, the Man (popularly called Standing Lincoln), by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, which is outside in Lincoln Park and can be viewed from the gallery window.
