Artist Statement

Once upon a time there was a girl named little Amanda. She had a love of making things, things she called art. She liked to draw, sculpt and paint from sun up to sun down; whenever she was making art she simply could not frown. Sometimes passersby would ask her "Why make art?" then she would just shout out "because I got a lotta heart.” If you asked her to pick a favorite medium she'd put her hands on her hips and waggle her eyebrows in deep thought then lean in close as she said in a very low tone “I don’t know, do you?”  Some people found her an oddity, a rarity of sorts, always seeming rude and weird to all of her cohorts. If you were to ask the simple question, "Why do you make art?" you might just end up with the long drawn out answer of, "I just like to do more of what I like rather than doing more of what I hate. I like making art because I hate doing the things I hate and I love doing the things I do so I'll keep doing them, how about you?" If you were to ask her, "What is your inspiration?" she would simply reply, "Beep boop boop be bop beep boop be toodaloop, I am just a mere robot, and that request does not compute."
