The city nearly reached 100 degrees today so I spent most of my lunch in the Crown fountain at Millennium Park. I had forgotten how fun the communal experience of living through things in the city was until today.
Little kids stood underneath the electronic fountain next to businessmen and foreign travel groups. It was a little like an open door nursery school on vacation as kids littered the area throughout the park with parents sitting off to the side. It was as fun as it was potentially disgusting, but a relief from the heat. It was so much fun to watch the kids faces as the electronic face on the fountain smiled and spit water out all over them. |
