I arrived in Chicago at Midway airport and was impressed to see their collection of public art works. It's nice to see public art that doesn't suck. I rode the Orange line train through the city's outskirts and I flashed to an image of the Blues Brothers in their little apartment. The loop around the city was amazing and I couldn't help noticing the diverse architecture all through the city.
I stepped out onto North State Street and it took me a half hour to find the dorm, which was on the same block. Throughout my accidental tour I was asked nearly fifteen times for directions as I lugged my suitcase around aimlessly. It was a bit of culture shock having just come from a workshop in Rockport, Maine.
