The Institute is divided into four separate one-week sessions. Teachers are accepted for only one session and possibly that session's studio extension week. It is highly encouraged that teachers choose to be part of the studio extention week as well. Applicants need not be currently active in studio practice, but must desire to return to a studio experience in a peer group environment. The three sessions of the Institute will be:
Each weekly session is divided into two main parts per day: Studio practice and visiting artist/critic presentations. Evening workshops and seminars are offered in museum education. This is a very intensive institute and participants should expect to be busy the entire day of everyday here. No second is spared with TICA.
Each session begins on a Saturday with an orientation that evening. The studio sessions run from Sunday through Friday, starting at 9:ooam. Checkout is the following Saturday morning.
Each Institute session is limited to 28 participants working with 2 instructors, to ensure individual and personal contact with and interaction from each participant.
