[Art and Technology Studies]

Research and Student Exchange Program with the Ecole d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence.  A website for the exchange program with aix-en-provence is open now.    www.bcchang.com/face    'FACE' stands for French-American Cultural Exchange, who are funding the project.

[Faculty / Joan Truckenbrod]

Joan Truckenbrod's artwork is included in an exhibition titled "Digital Perceptions" in the Collins Gallery at the University of Strathclye in Glasgow, Scotland from January 14 - February 18, 2006.  Ms. Truckenbrod is presenting her artwork in a Symposium that accompanies this exhibition February 9 and 10 at the University.

Joan Truckenbrod has a one person exhibition of Video/Multimedia Installations,titled "Estuarine Spaces" opening Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the NIU Art Museum in DeKalb, Illinois.  There is an opening reception Wednesday, January 18 from 5 - 7 pm, and a closing reception on March 9 from 5 - 7 pm followed by an artist's talk.  The gallery is open from Tuesday - Friday from 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday from 12 - 4 pm.  It is located in the South Galleries, 110 Altgeld Hall, Northern Illinois University.

Tiffany Holmes's 7000 oaks and counting awarded design commission from the State of Illinois. 7000 oaks and counting is a installation that creatively images real time electricity consumption. The piece will be installed in the new NCSA building in Urbana, IL in 2006.

Byeong Sam Jeon presents his interactive installation called 'Ten Worlds: Garden of Life' in the 'Digital Playground' show which is the main exhibition of Uijueongbu International Digital Arts Festival 2005 in Seoul, Korea.  He also makes a speech about 'Media Art Education Systems and Networks' in the International Symposium which is a part of the festival.  For more information, visit http://digitalart.ui4u.net/

Philomene Longpre recently won The Judith Hamel Award for the Best Media Art Project at the International FICFA Festival. The event was held September 16-29, 2005.

Sharon Younger's interactive installation called 'Jumping Rope' is shown for a year in the Future Lab of Ars Electronica, Linz, Austria.

Truckenbrod presents her outdoors public installation 'parallel lives' in river (Brush Creek) in Kansas city, Missouri.

Stewart presents his recent photocopier animation 'Errata' in the 17th Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festial June 16-19.

[Faculty / Tiffany Holmes]

Holmes participated in group exhibition and symposium, "The Process of Inquiry" at the KunstMuseum Luzern in Switzerland.  A book documenting the Artists-In-Labs residency is forthcoming from Springer Press (1/2006) with essays by Jill Scott and Roger Malina of Leonardo.  (More information: http://www.artistsinlabs.ch/)
