The idea of the ravioli as a vehicle for collecting and distributing art and creative materials, is the brainchild of Temporary Services, a Chicago-based group who says of themselves and their work: We embed the creative work we present within thoughtful and imaginative social contexts and strive to create participatory situations.

For The Chicago Ravioli Project, Temporary Services has joined forces with Tasty Productions, a collaborative team that has originated at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Tasty Productions brings its aspirations and ambition to the project with a goal of making it the largest Ravioli Project to date.

Ravioli projects have been executed in other cities in the U.S. and internationally, including Boston, San Francisco, and Chiang Mai, Thailand.

“The distinction between art practice and other creative human endeavors is irrelevant to us.”
