Temporary Services is a Chicago-based art group comprised of three individuals: Brett Bloom, Marc Fischer, and Salem Collo-Julin.
“The distinction between art practice and other creative human endeavors is irrelevant to us.” Temporary Services strives to create participatory art-related projects that link issues of aesthetics and ethics in a context outside that of an institutional or commercial setting. They are intent on bringing art and creative issues to people who may never have participated in an art project before, or people who may feel excluded from contemporary art.
Since its inception in 1998, Temporary Services has celebrated the temporal and ephemeral qualities of public art projects that lend the element of surprise that deliberately planned indoor exhibitions often lack. Constantly attempting to challenge the expected usages of objects and the borders of space and permission, Temporary Services deliberately and actively examines the effects of placing materials into different social contexts.

Tasty Productions is a group of four candidates in the Master of Arts in Arts Administration program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Jaci Badzin, Jessica Berger, Stephanie Pereira, and Sheetal Prajapati came together in order to investigate collaborative partnerships in Chicago’s art community. Each woman lends her creative and administrative talents to the idea that art should be enjoyed by an unrestricted general public; that art and creativity should always be evident in everyday life. Click our name to see pictures of the Tasty Ladies and more information about each member.

The Prajapati Family are kind and generous donors to the project. Thanks in part to them, The Chicago Ravioli Project was able to purchase some materials for inclusion in the ravioli packets, and host the ravioli Celebration bash where artists, organizers and the general public were able to come together to celebrate the ravioli and share experiences with one another. Funds also helped ensure that each artist and contributor who participated in the project received his or her very own Ravioli to keep, or distribute at will. The Prajapati family contribution is dedicated to the loving and respected memory of Somabhai Prajapati. May his soul be at peace and his memory live on.

Fat Rat Printing has proved an invaluable asset to the Ravioli Project. Tasty Productions worked with this fabulous printing company in the creation of our signature Ravioli Project stickers. Click here to check out Fat Rat's website.

The School of The Art Institute of Chicago Master of Arts in Arts Administration: Collaborative Projects division was the driving force between this ambitious collaborative effort. Thank-you to the Arts Administration Department and to our Collaborative Project advisor, Ellen Rothenberg.

pile of finished ravioli

Jaci Badzin - Jaci moved to Chicago from San Francisco and is still trying to find her favorite lounge-bar in the city. She is looking forward to summer, but is starting to believe that "summer in Chicago" is just an urban myth. You can catch her serving up cocktails to Sheetal at Mickey's this "summer".

Jessica Berger - A compulsive list maker and note taker, Jessica finds the sharing of knowledge and ideas an integral, necessary part of life. Smiling and laughing are pretty important too. And milkshakes. And pretty much anything red. Oh yeah, and ravioli.

Sheetal Prajapati - Sheetal is very proud of her brown heritage and her undying love for sports. She is very excited to be part of this amazing project and can't wait for all of you out there to find a ravioli. This summer you'll find her with one too many cocktails at Mickey's, compliments of Jaci. God Bless Flip-flops.
