2015 OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. SUBJECT TO ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.

ENTRY REQUIRES AN INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT OR A TWITTER ACCOUNT AND INTERNET CONNECTION. YOUR INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER POSTS MUST BE VIEWABLE BY ALL INSTAGRAM OR TWITTER USERS AND YOUR “PRIVATE ACCOUNT” OR “PROTECT” SETTING MUST BE SET TO “OFF” TO PARTICIPATE. THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS IN NO WAY SPONSORED, ENDORSED OR ADMINISTERED BY, OR ASSOCIATED WITH INSTAGRAM, INC. (“INSTAGRAM”) OR TWITTER INC. (“TWITTER”).

  1. ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of IL, IN, MI, WI, who are 18 years of age or older. The following individuals are not eligible to enter or win a prize: employees, contractors, directors, and officers of the Art Institute of Chicago (“Sponsor”), its parent and affiliated museums, and the advertising, fulfillment, legal, administrative, and Sweepstakes agencies involved in development of this Sweepstakes (collectively, “Sweepstakes Parties”), and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or "step" of each) and those living in the same household of each such person (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence for at least three months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the Sweepstakes).
  2. HOW TO ENTER: You may enter the Sweepstakes via Instagram or via Twitter.
    Take a photograph of yourself with the Art Institute of Chicago “#1 World Champions of Art” 16 ft. foam finger sculpture (“Sculpture”) at one of the public locations at which sculpture will be displayed in Chicago beginning May 5 through August 2, 2015; post the photo to your Instagram or your Twitter account using the hashtags #ArtChampions and #Entry (the Entry Submission) during one of the Entry Periods listed below to receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. The photo submitted and any text content in your post are collectively referred to herein as an “Entry.” You will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for each unique Entry posted during an Entry Period that meets all of the requirements specified in Rule 2, subject to entry limit specified below. Your Twitter or Instagram account must be viewable by the public in order to enter.
    Limit one (1) entry per person per social channel, per day. For purposes of this Sweepstakes, a “day” begins at 12:00:01 a.m. CT and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT. Message and data rates may apply; connect your device to an available WiFi connection to enter without incurring data charges. All Entries must comply with the Terms of Use or Terms of Service of Instagram and Twitter, respectively. Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for late, incomplete, inaccurate, invalid, un-intelligible, garbled, delayed or misdirected posts, all of which will be void.
    Enter using only an Instagram or a Twitter account registered in your name. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry, the natural person associated with the Instagram or Twitter account used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant, but only if that person is otherwise eligible to enter the Sweepstakes. By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the Sponsor’s decisions.
  3. #1 ART CHAMPION FOAM FINGER SCULPTURE DISPLAY LOCATIONS: Sculpture will be on display beginning 5/5/15 at the intersection of State and Lake Streets, Chicago, IL and will move to other locations within Chicago during the promotion period through August 2, 2015. Each location where the Sculpture will be displayed will be announced in Twitter and Instagram posts on or about each Display Start Date and will be updated in the Official Rules posted on the Sponsor’s website.

    The total approximate retail value of Entry Period Prizes and the Grand Prize is $2,066.
  5. DRAWINGS AND ODDS OF WINNING: For each of the Entry Periods listed above, a random drawing will be conducted on the date specified above to award each prize as indicated for the Entry Period. The potential winner in each drawing will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Non-winning entries from an Entry Period drawing will not roll over into a subsequent Entry Period drawing(s), but will be included in the Grand Prize drawing. One (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible non-winning entries received during all Entry Periods on or about August 5, 2015. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for all drawings. Drawings will be conducted by a third-party promotion administrator (“Promotion Administrator”), whose decisions shall be final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Promotion Administrator will select three (3) additional entries for potential use in accordance with the provisions of Winner Notification (Rule 10 below) of these Official Rules.
  6. RESTRICTIONS: Use of any automated system to participate or subvert the entry process is prohibited and will cause disqualification. Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same Instagram/Twitter account. Entrants may not enter with multiple Twitter/Instagram accounts nor may entrants use any other device or artifice to enter more than the stated limit. Any entrant who attempts to enter with multiple Twitter/Instagram accounts or uses any device or artifice to enter multiple times above the stated limit will be disqualified and forfeits any and all prizes won, in Sponsor's sole discretion.
    Instagram/Twitter Notice: This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram or Twitter. You are providing your information to the Sponsor and not to Instagram or Twitter. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this Sweepstakes shall be directed to Sponsor and not to Instagram or Twitter.
    Privacy Policy: Information submitted in connection with this Sweepstakes is governed by Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (available at http://www.artic.edu/terms/terms-and-conditions). Any personal information supplied by any entrant to Instagram or Twitter will be subject to their respective privacy policies.
  7. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS: Entry must be the original work of the entrant; may not have won previous awards; may not have been used publicly previously by any third party; must not infringe any third-party’s rights; must be suitable for publication (i.e., may not be obscene or indecent); must not contain obscene or pornographic material; may not contain defamatory or libelous statements; may not invade privacy, publicity or other rights of any person, firm or entity; may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations; may not contain any reference to any third party trademarks, names or third party logos; and may not contain any copyrighted works owned by third parties other than the #1 Sculpture image.
    Sponsor reserves the right to monitor/screen Entries prior to drawings. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may accept an Entry with a misspelled hashtag. For purposes of this Sweepstakes, only Entries that are recorded through Instagram/Twitter servers during one of the Entry Periods will be entered into the Sweepstakes. By entering, you acknowledge that Sponsor has no obligation to use or post any Entry submitted. Entries cannot be changed, altered or modified once submitted. Entries containing false information, prohibited material or inappropriate content, or are deemed to be in violation of these Official Rules or to be otherwise infringing, harmful, inappropriate, defamatory, or generally not in keeping with the image of Sponsor, as determined by the Sweepstakes Parties or the Sponsor, in their sole discretion, may be disqualified and will not be eligible to participate in the sweepstakes. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that such decisions of Sponsor are final and binding. Sponsor makes the final determination as to what entries are eligible for this Sweepstakes and reserves the right to waive the Sweepstakes entry requirements set forth herein in its reasonable discretion. Other proof of submitting an Entry (such as a printed or copied screenshot or message) does not constitute proof of actual receipt of entry for purposes of this Sweepstakes.
  8. COMMERCIAL USE OF ENTRIES: BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY (I.E., BY POSTING A PHOTO TO INSTAGRAM/TWITTER WITH THE HASHTAG SPECIFIED ABOVE), ENTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HIS/HER ENTRY MAY BE POSTED ON EACH OR ALL OF SPONSOR’S WEBSITE, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER PAGE AND/OR OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS IN SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION. SUBMISSION OF AN ENTRY GRANTS SPONSOR AND ITS AGENTS THE UNCONDITIONAL, ROYALTY FREE, IRREVOCABLE, PERPETUAL, WORLDWIDE RIGHT TO PUBLISH, USE, ADAPT, EDIT AND/OR MODIFY ENTRY IN ANY WAY, INCLUDING EACH COMPONENT OF THE ENTRY, TOGETHER OR SEPARATELY, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, IN ANY AND ALL MEDIA, WITHOUT LIMITATION, AND WITHOUT COMPENSATION OR CONSIDERATION TO THE ENTRANT, WHETHER OR NOT SUCH ENTRY IS SELECTED AS A WINNING ENTRY. IF REQUESTED, ENTRANT WILL SIGN ANY DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR SPONSOR OR ITS DESIGNEES SUCCESSORS, ASSIGNS AND LICENSEES TO MAKE USE OF THE NONEXCLUSIVE RIGHTS ENTRANT IS GRANTING TO USE THE POST. BY SUBMITTING THE ORIGINAL ENTRY, THE ENTRANT REPRESENTS AND WARRANTS THAT HE/SHE HAS ALL RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST NECESSARY TO GRANT THE SPONSOR THE WORLDWIDE, IRREVOCABLE AND UNRESTRICTED RIGHT AND LICENSE TO ADAPT, PUBLISH, USE, EDIT, AND/OR MODIFY SUCH ENTRY IN ANY WAY AND POST THE ORIGINAL OR MODIFIED ENTRY ON THE INTERNET OR USE THE ORIGINAL OR MODIFIED ENTRY IN ANY OTHER WAY AND AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD SPONSOR HARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIMS TO THE CONTRARY.
  9. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: Limit one (1) prize per person/household. Prizes are non-transferable and no cash redemption or prize substitution permitted, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. If a prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right in their sole discretion to substitute a prize in whole or in part with one of comparable or greater value. All costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specifically provided herein are the responsibility of the winner. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of each winner. Any difference between the stated ARV and actual value at the time the prize was awarded will not be awarded. For prizes that include event tickets: Ticket will be required for all event admissions. Tickets will not be refundable or redeemable for cash or credit at any time, nor will they be replaced if lost or stolen. Passes and tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by issuer. Winners agree that event admission is awarded pursuant to a revocable, nontransferable license that is personal to the Winner and may not be sold, resold, auctioned, bartered, assigned, exchanged, placed in commerce, transferred, given away, donated or otherwise conveyed.
  10. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PRIZE CLAIM: Winners are subject to verification, including verification of age. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling entry requirements set forth herein.
    Potential winners will be notified via an Instagram or a Twitter Message and/or a comment to their Entry and will be provided with further instructions to claim their prize. A potential winner will be required to respond to the Message and/or comment within three (3) calendar days and must provide his/her address, phone number and email address. If any potential winner is found to be ineligible, or if he or she does not comply with these Official Rules, does not respond within the required time, or declines a prize for any reason prior to award, such potential winner will be disqualified and the prize may be awarded to an alternate potential winner. If there is still no confirmed winner of a prize after three (3) additional attempts have been made to award a prize, the prize will not be awarded.
    Sponsor is not responsible for any change of mailing address, email address and/or telephone number of entrants. Prize may not be awarded if the prize is not properly claimed.
  11. GENERAL CONDITIONS: If the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including without limitation, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, modify, or terminate the Sweepstakes. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor will award the prizes in a drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to cancellation. In the event that an entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost or destroyed, entrant’s sole remedy shall be another entry into the Sweepstakes.
  12. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE: No liability or responsibility is assumed by Sponsor or Sweepstakes Parties, and Instagram/Twitter (collectively, “Releasees”) resulting from user's participation in, attempt to participate in, or download of any information in connection with participating in the Sweepstakes. No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsor or Sweepstakes Parties for technical problems or technical malfunction, including, without limitation, those arising in connection with any of the following occurrences that may affect the operation of the Sweepstakes: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless, or Internet connectivity, or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, hosts, or providers; garbled, jumbled, or faulty data transmissions; failure of any email transmissions to be sent to or received; lost, late, delayed, or intercepted email transmissions; inaccessibility of the web site/mobile/wireless service in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestion on the Internet or web site/mobile/wireless network; unauthorized human or non-human intervention in the operation of the Sweepstakes, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bug, worm; or destruction of any aspect of the Sweepstakes. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of the prize or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on promotional materials or on the web site/mobile site. Use of web site/mobile/wireless networks is at user’s own risk. Releasees are not responsible for any personal injury or property damage or any other losses of any kind that may be sustained to user's or any other person's computer equipment/mobile phone resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, use of the web site/mobile/wireless networks or the download of any information from the web site/mobile Site, or any other loss related to user’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt of any prize. As a condition of entering, entrants agree (and agree to confirm in writing): (a) to release Sponsor, Sweepstakes Parties and Instagram/Twitter from any and all liability, loss, or damage incurred with respect to entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes and the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize, including any traveling related thereto; (b) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs.
  13. PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited by law, by accepting a prize, winners grant permission for Sponsor and those acting under its authority to use their name, and address (city and state), photograph, voice and/or likeness, for advertising and/or publicity purposes, in any and all media (including posting on Instagram) now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without further notice to and without additional compensation. Nothing contained in these Official Rules obligates the Releasees to make use of any of the rights granted herein and winner waives any right to inspect or approve any such use. If you are selected as a winner, your information may also be included in a publicly-available winners list.
  14. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. By entering, you consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Cook County, Illinois for the resolution of all disputes, and agree that any and all disputes shall be resolved exclusively in those courts. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision. If any provision of these Official Rules is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck, and the remaining provisions shall be enforced.
  15. FORCE MAJEURE: Sponsor reserves the right, without prior notice and at any time, to terminate the Promotion, in whole or in part, or modify or suspend the Promotion in any way, if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Promotion is technically impaired or corrupted or that fraud or technical problems, failures or malfunctions have destroyed or severely undermined the integrity and/or feasibility of the Promotion. In the event Sponsor is prevented from continuing with the Promotion as contemplated herein by any event beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, flood, natural or man-made epidemic of health of other means, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal state or local government law, order, or regulation, public health crisis, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other cause not reasonably within Sponsor's control (each a "Force Majeure" event or occurrence), then subject to any governmental approval which may be required, Sponsor shall have the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Sweepstakes. If the Sweepstakes is terminated, in whole or in part, before the designated end date, Sponsor reserves the right to select the Sweepstakes winners (or the remaining Sweepstakes winners, as the case may be) in a random drawing from all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date/time of the event giving rise to the termination. Only the type and quantity of prizes described in these Official Rules will be awarded. Any prizes that are not duly claimed in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded.
  16. INVALIDITY: These Official Rules cannot be modified or amended in any way except in a written document issued in accordance with law by a duly authorized representative of Sponsor. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any Promotion materials and the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.

ArtFEED Official Contest Rules

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
  2. To Enter: Post an image or thought on Instagram or Twitter and tag @ArtInstituteEA with the hashtag #ArtFEEDChi and you will be automatically entered into the ArtFEED Contest drawing. If you do not tag the Evening Associates and use the designated hashtag, you will not be entered. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to disregard any entry that is late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or incorrect. You must enter between February 22 and 27, 2015.
  3. Prize Details: The prize is two free tickets to the After Dark event on April 10. No prize substitution or cash redemption is allowed by the winner. All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if featured prize becomes unavailable.
  4. Drawing and Awarding of Prize(s): The winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received on or about February 27, 2015. The drawing and awarding of the prize will be conducted by a representative of the Art Institute of Chicago whose decisions on all matters relating to this drawing are final. The winner will be notified by e-mail. If the prize notification e-mail is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited. The winners will have 2 days to respond via e-mail to accept the prize. The winners’ response must be sent to same e-mail as prize notification. If a winner does not accept prize within such timeframe, the Art Institute of Chicago will draw another entry from among the remaining entries and the substitute winner will be notified by e-mail. The substitute winner will have 2 days to respond via e-mail to accept the prize. The winner agrees that the Art Institute of Chicago may use his or her name or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited). Acceptance of the prize indicates acceptance of all the contingencies described herein and inherent to the prize offered.
  5. Odds: Odds of winning depend on the number of qualified entries received.
  6. Eligibility: Drawing open to legal U.S. residents age 18 or older. Employees of the Art Institute of Chicago, its advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each are not eligible. All federal, state, and local laws apply. Void where prohibited. The Art Institute of Chicago and its advertising and promotion agencies are not responsible for printing, distribution, or production errors and may rescind, cancel, or revoke this drawing based upon any such error without liability and at its sole discretion. By participating in this drawing, entrants waive all right to, and hold harmless, the Art Institute of Chicago and its advertising and promotions agencies from any loss, damage, or expense arising out of or in connection with participation in this drawing or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize.

Evening Associates Survey Drawing

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
  2. To Enter: Visit https://tidysurveys.com/s/EA2014 and complete the Evening Associates 2014 survey, which should take approximately 5 minutes. Fill in your contact information at the end of the completed survey and you will be automatically entered into the Evening Associates survey drawing. If you do not fill in your contact information prior to submitting your completed survey, you will not be entered. The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to disregard any entry that is late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or incorrect. You must enter between September 30 and October 14, 2014. Please note that the survey may close before October 14, 2014 if the participation quota is reached.
  3. Prize Details: The prize is two free tickets to the After Dark event on November 14. No prize substitution or cash redemption is allowed by the winner. All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The drawing and awarding of the prize will be conducted by a representative of the Art Institute of Chicago whose decisions on all matters relating to this drawing are final. The winner will be notified by e-mail. If the prize notification e-mail is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited. The winners will have 2 days to respond via e-mail to accept the prize. The winners’ response must be sent to same e-mail as prize notification. If a winner does not accept prize within such timeframe, the Art Institute of Chicago will draw another entry from among the remaining entries and the substitute winner will be notified by e-mail. The substitute winner will have 2 days to respond via e-mail to accept the prize. The winner agrees that the Art Institute of Chicago may use his or her name or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited). Acceptance of the prize indicates acceptance of all the contingencies described herein and inherent to the prize offered.

  2. To Enter: Submit your idea to reinvent the museum experience via the official competition website submission form at reimagine-artic.tumblr.com beginning on November 23, 2013.
