Lifelong Learning: Please join us for the 19th annual Senior Celebrations. Senior Celebrations is the free annual kick-off day held in September to celebrate Art Insights [4], a program that brings free slide talks to senior groups, senior residences, and nursing homes. Generously funded by the Hulda B. and Maurice L. Rothschild Foundation, Senior Celebrations is designed to acquaint and reacquaint seniors with the Art Institute’s collection.
From 10:15 to 2:30, guests enjoy a variety of programs exploring the Art Institute's collection. Enjoy a keynote lecture in Rubloff Auditorium and visit the galleries where Art Insights presenters lead five- to ten-minute presentations in front of museum masterpieces. Souvenir postcards enhance the small, informal talks. Music, a sketch class, and artist demonstrations are included in the day’s events.
Senior Celebrations is free to all seniors and includes museum admission, lectures, and gallery talks. Please use the museum's Modern Wing entrance (159 E. Monroe) beginning at 9:30 a.m.
