The Ryerson & Burnham Archives are delighted to announce the launch of our Artists Oral History Archive. Consisting of three collections of material, the site eventually will contain nearly 400 oral histories, questionnaires, and interviews with artists from across the country. The Artists Oral History Archive is launching with the 70+: Chicago Visual Artist Oral History Archive. Collected by Linda L. Kramer and Sandra Binion from 2010 through 2013 and donated to the Ryerson & Burnham Archives in 2013, this collection of audio interviews of Chicago artists age 70 and over is available in its entirety online. Artists discuss academic study; family background; cultural influences; gallery affiliations; exhibitions and awards; and Chicago and its influence on the artists' work and role in their careers.
