Sustaining Fellows is the premier giving society of the Art Institute of Chicago.
The purpose of the Sustaining Fellows is to cultivate and foster enduring and intimate relationships between current and prospective donors and the museum through a variety of exclusive programs and experiences that provide educational insight into all aspects of the Art Institute and its collection, present the opportunity to meet others with similar interests, and offer deeper engagement for those interested in participating in the volunteer committees of the Sustaining Fellows.
There are four ways to become a Sustaining Fellow:
1 hour 13 min ago The Art Institute of Chicago Today we remember Eldzier Cortor, who passed away on Thanksgiving. He spoke with us about his life and work during a career retrospective earlier this spring.
15 hours 45 min ago The Art Institute of Chicago Happy birthday to William Adolphe Bouguereau.
Though largely forgotten today, Bouguereau was once one of the most popular painters in Europe. His realistic depictions of classical subjects made him a bastion of academic painting and also a central target of the young Impressionists who regarded his work as overly polished and conservative.
Since the rise of Modernism, Bouguereau's name has largely gone unmentioned in the canons of art history while the reputation of the Impressionists has grown immensely.

21 hours 20 min ago The Art Institute of Chicago The holidays have officially arrived at the Art Institute!
Our lions are adorned with traditional evergreen wreaths. We’ve decked the tiny halls of the Holiday Thorne Rooms. And the Neapolitan crèche—our intricate 18th-century nativity scene—is back on view.
And with a holiday calendar brimming with events the whole family can enjoy, there’s a reason to visit every day this season.
