In 2008, the Auxiliary Board had the opportunity to partner with the Art Institute’s Department of European and Decorative Arts on the summer 2009 exhibition, A Case for Wine: From King Tut to Today. As part of the Auxiliary Board’s annual Legacy gift contribution, the Board helped fund the exhibition, which traced the history of wine through art, from ancient cultures to the present day.
To celebrate this collaboration, the Auxiliary Board hosted a wine tasting party where guests had the opportunity to sample an exclusive array of Moët Hennessy wines from around the world. A team of renowned sommeliers was on hand to discuss wines by region, assist guests with their selections, and recommend a variety of gourmet food pairings.
Additionally, guests were invited to purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win one of five incredible prizes. Travel packages to California, France and even Australia were among the prizes offered.
