Gallery Talk: Visible Histories, Part Three—The Chicago Imagists and Roger Brown

April 20, 2016
Roger Brown Study Collection
Free with museum admission

The Art Institute of Chicago in partnership with the Chicago Public Library presents Visible Histories, a new series that connects art with topics from CPL’s One Book, One Chicago selection, The Third Coast, by Thomas Dyja. Each portion of this three-part series consists of two program parts: an engaging dialogue about local history at a CPL branch followed by a companion gallery experience that explores related artworks.

Participants will take part in an intimate tour and talk at the Roger Brown Study Collection, the home and studio of artist Roger Brown (SAIC alum, BFA 1968, MFA 1970), where his extraordinary collection of art and objects is preserved as a house museum. This gallery talk is related to Conversation: Visible Histories, Part 3—The Chicago Imagists and Roger Brown.
