Teachers' Lounge: Teaching with Objects

March 28, 2013
Ryan Education Center
Free; 2 CPDUs

Objects give shape to ideas, or put the other way, ideas are embedded in objects. This manifests as we respond intellectually and emotionally to the physical properties of objects, such as the shape, size, texture, color, and materials. Whether real things or symbolic representations of them, art objects play a critical role in conveying rich understandings of the world and our human condition. This workshop will investigate the special nature of works of art as vessels of knowledge and experience and strategies teachers can use to teach with art in the classroom.

This program has reached capacity and is no longer accepting registrations. For additional Teacher Workshops please visit the Teacher Programs Calendar.
