Six Saturdays
January 20-February 24
10:45-12:45

Multi-session sketch classes offer the chance to draw in the museum’s galleries under the guidance of experienced instructors. All materials will be provided.

Artists use value, or light and dark to create mood, enliven their compositions, or to tell stories. Inspired by the Art Institute’s collection, this class examines different approaches to value scales from Chiaroscuro and “Notan” drawings.

Although all levels are welcome, participants in this particular course may find it helpful to have some experience with drawing.
