Investigate the portrait, in all its complexities, from literal images of the face to metaphorical and abstract expressions of self and identity. The museum’s collection and special exhibitions, including Andrew Lord: Unslumbrous Night and Dress Codes: Portrait Photographs from the Collection, will provide inspiration.
