Sketch Class: Light and Shadow

September 15, 2012
Morton Auditorium
$195 per member

Students will learn to render both artificial and natural light, looking for differences that indicate the time of day, as the Impressionists did.  We will examine the traditional steps between light and shadow,  and try the classical drawing practice of sculptural shading.  Drawings will be done using high key, low key, and high value contrast schemes.  The effects of light on the clouds and dramatic shadows on the ground will also be explored.

Eight Saturdays: September 15, 2012 - November 3, 2012
