Sketch Class: Drawing from Sculpture

January 19, 2013
Morton Auditorium
$160 per member

In drawing sculpture, the artist deals not only with the rendering of three dimensions on a flat surface, but how to convey weight, texture, and scale. Students in this class will sketch from a wide range of objects in the museum's collections, including sculpture from the reinstalled galleries of ancient art; modern sculpture; works from India, China, Japan, and southeast Asia; examples from Africa and ancient America; and diverse European works.  Students will also examine drawings made by sculptors, exploring and experimenting with their potential to further enrich interaction with sculpture.

Six Saturdays: January 19, 2013 - February 23, 2013
