On the occasion of the Christopher Williams exhibition, Kevin Coval performs an ekprasis poem written during the exhibition as well as a new body of work in progress about the Second City—"the city after the industrial age, the city of white and Black, rich and Poor, blue and white collar, the divided Chicago, those that have and those that have to rent." Coval's poems challenge and celebrate who makes the city work and who is working the city.

Kevin Coval is a poet, educator, Artistic Director of Young Chicago Authors, and founder of Louder Than a Bomb
