Museum Orientation Tour

July 7, 2018
Griffin Court
Free with museum admission

Whether you're a new visitor or a seasoned member, the Art Institute can be overwhelming. It is, after all, one of the world's great encyclopedic art museums, which means that it is big. Very big. If you would like an overview or simply want to gain more working knowledge, this tour is a great place to start.

Topics include:

  • getting from point A to point Z (via points B through Y)
  • how the buildings connect with one another
  • how the collections are arranged individually and flow into one another
  • interesting and little-known facts about the museum and its collections

Join us in Gallery 100 (at the base of the Grand Staircase) and begin from the beginning.
