Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica designed the Parangolés as a painting to be worn while dancing to the rhythms of samba music. For this participatory program, artist Cheryl Pope leads visitors in creating their own Parangolés, while Chicago-based samba group Bossa Tres, featuring artists Dillzinha Costa and Marcos Oliveira, perform and lead a Carnival-style dance workshop.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Hélio Oiticica: To Organize Delirium

*Museum admission is free for Illinois resident every Thursday, 5:00-8:00–including during this event.
