Critic and art historian Sérgio B. Martins discusses Brazilian art from the 1950s through the 1970s in the first lecture of a series devoted to Hélio Oiticica: To Organize Delirium.
About the Speaker
Sérgio B. Martins is a professor in the history department at PUC-Rio. He received his MA and his PhD in the history of art from University College London. He guest-edited Third Text’s special issue “Bursting on the Scene: Looking Back at Brazilian Art” and is the author of Constructing an Avant-Garde: Art in Brazil, 1949–1979.
