Mónica Ponce de León is a Venezuelan-American architect, educator, and pioneer in digital design and robotics. In 2016 Ponce de León was appointed dean of Princeton’s School of Architecture, and she previously served as dean of the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Ponce de León pioneered the use of robotic technology in both building fabrication and education. Following research undertaken at Harvard’s Digital Lab, Ponce de León incorporated robotic fabrication techniques into her architectural projects, including the RISD Library in Providence, Rhode Island; the Conrad Hilton hotel in New York; and Helios House for BP in Los Angeles, projects undertaken with her practice MPdl. She has received numerous awards for her teaching and architecture including the National Design Award in Architecture from the Cooper Hewitt, and the Academic Award in Architecture from the American Academy of the Arts and Sciences.
