For the past 30 years, Julia Scher has created media-based work about surveillance and electronic security and the power that inhabits these systems. In the publication Always There, a survey of her work, Andrew Ross described Scher as “a wholly political artist with a keen eye and ear for the iconography and poetry of power, especially when it crystallizes into the operational jargon of aggressive intelligence systems.”
