Carol Jackson explains, “My art celebrates the exuberant motifs of mid-19th-century furniture and graphics—the same anglicized rococo and neo-colonial stylings that continue to permeate mass-produced low-end furniture and miscellaneous Americana.” She uses these decorative details in elaborate frames and sculptural objects paired with fragmented photographic imagery of today’s industries. These hybrids hopelessly anticipate or abruptly truncate the promise of plenitude.
