April 4, 2013
6:00PM–7:00PM
Fullerton Hall
Free with museum admission
In the early 20th century, avant-garde artists such as Pablo Picasso, Giorgio de Chirico, Fernand Léger, and Francis Picabia looked to classical antiquity to feed their imaginations. Jens Daehner, J. Paul Getty Museum, considers how modern artists transformed and reinvented the antique and how they have shaped the ways in which we now perceive classical art.
