In 1903, the Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw wrote, “There is no love sincerer than the love of food” (Man and Superman, Act 1). What has motivated different depictions of food from artwork throughout different cultures? How might these objects prompt us to consider the way food shapes our understanding of nature, society, and interpersonal relationships? Join educator Paulina Lopez to explore depictions of food and feasting across works from the collection.
