Gallery Talk: The Art of Plaster

September 28, 2017
Meet in Gallery 100
Free with museum admission

Plaster is often thought of as a not-quite medium: an imitation of ivory or marble, a medium for making models and studies. Join Woman’s Board Fellow Alice Boone for an investigation of plaster art objects in the galleries: some are models for later works, while others are playful commentaries on what we consider original, finished, real, and authoritative.
