Film: Short Film Fridays

December 12, 2014
Ryan Education Center

Don't miss the second of a two-part series featuring a selection of documentary films from the 1960s and 1970s from the collection of the Chicago Film Archive.

This week we will be screening the recently restored films The Corner (Robert Ford, 1962) and Lord Thing (DeWitt Beall, 1970), documenting the development of the Vice Lords from an informal club for young men on the streets of Chicago’s West Side, its emergence as a street gang, and its evolution into the Conservative Vice Lords, a splinter group that aspired to nonviolent community activism.

Registration is not required for this event.
