Traveling back in time, tour three architectural gems registered on the National Register of Historic Places or designated as National Historic Landmarks. Start your adventure at historic Starved Rock Lodge and enjoy an early buffet lunch and its beautiful surroundings. Next, participate in a narrated, mule-pulled boat ride on the Illinois & Michigan canal which connects the Great Lakes to the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers, largely responsible for the growth of Chicago as a major city. Finally, follow a docent tour of the Hegeler-Carus Mansion.
