A pair of exhibitions currently on view in Chicago—Art AIDS America at the Alphawood Gallery and One day this kid will get larger at the DePaul Art Museum—explore the wide range of artistic responses to the ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic beginning in the 1980s. On the last Wednesday of January, February, and March 2017, join a museum educator for this series of conversation-based gallery talks that explore the work of artists in the Art Institute’s collection that engage with the undeniable presence of AIDS in American art.
