Teacher Workshop: Exhibition Snapshot—"Dionysos Unmasked: Ancient Sculpture and Early Prints"

November 12, 2015
Ryan Education Center, Studio C
$20 / 2 CPDUs

The Renaissance and Baroque periods saw a renewed interest in antiquity, especially Dionysos, the patron god of theater and wine. Artists drew inspiration from ancient sculpture and used printing and drawing to depict the god and his raucous retinue in new ways that appealed to their own contemporary audiences. This workshop features a guided tour of the exhibition and ideas for incorporating this content into different areas of the curriculum.

Exhibition Snapshot is a brand new program format that takes place in the museum’s galleries and features guest artists, curators, and educators discussing special exhibitions.
