This four-week lecture series, presented by the Asian Art Council in conjunction with Sustaining Fellows, considers the key themes that both bind the various manifestations of Islamic visual culture and celebrate the broad diversity of expression found in different Islamic lands and times. A lunch will follow each lecture.

The May 14 lecture, "Islamic Art Now and Then: Contextualizing Contemporary Middle East Art within an Historical Collection," is presented by Linda Komaroff, curator of Islamic art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
