This two-part event, presented in connection with Never a Lovely So Real: Photography and Film in Chicago, 1950–1980, begins with a conversation among exhibition artists Darryl Cowherd, Roy Lewis, and Ozier Muhammad considering their work in Chicago’s South Side.
Following the conversation will be a discussion about the impact and lasting legacy of these artists’ work among journalist and author Natalie Moore of WBEZ; Kyra Kyles, previously of Ebony; Romi Crawford, School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and artists Maria Gaspar and Tonika Johnson.
