Concert: Latino Music Festival 2013

As part of the 8th Annual Latino Music Festival, this concert features Joseph Genualdi, violin and Beatriz Helguera, piano.

One of the founding members of The Chicago Chamber Musicians in 1986, Joseph Genualdi travels widely to perform as a soloist and in chamber music, as well as to lecture and teach. Genualdi has worked closely with numerous composers including Richard Wilson, John Corigliano, Pierre Boulez, Augusta Read Thomas, John Harbison, Aaron J. Kernis, and Bruce Adolphe. 

Currently, Joseph Genualdi is a professor of violin at The University of Missouri—Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.

Born in Mexico City, Beatriz Helguera is founding member of the Chicago Pan-American Ensemble and has studied at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico and the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, Texas. She has played in numerous master classes and workshops for pianists such as Jorg Demus, Paul Badura-Skoda, Jorge Bolet, Angelica Morales and many more.

In her native México, Beatriz Helguera was a soloist with the Fine Arts Chamber Orchestra (Orquesta de Camara de Bellas Artes), State of México Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México), and the Conservatory Orchestra among others. She has also played numerous solo and chamber music recitals in all major recital halls of México city, such as Carlos Chávez Recital Hall of the University of México, the Sala Ponce of Palacio de Bellas Artes, Sala Julián Carrillo, and others.
