Classroom Connect: An Introduction to Early Childhood Teaching with Visual Art

November 8, 2014
Ryan Education Center, Studio C
$25; 3 CPDUs

Do you teach young children? Are you looking for ways to use art with your students, but aren’t sure how? This unique Classroom Connect professional development opportunity is designed specifically for early childhood educators. The program will highlight the many qualities shared between how young children learn and the characteristics of the art museum as a learning environment. Starting with works of art, participants will increase their familiarity with inquiry-based teaching methods, including looking strategies, open-ended questioning, and object-based learning activities that can be conducted in both the museum and classroom. Teachers will also learn about programs and resources available at the museum.
This program is being offered to early childhood classroom and home school educators only.
