Bus Tour: Glorious Stained Glass in Chicago and Oak Park

Bill Hinchliff leads this daylong tour of stained glass in Chicago and Oak Park churches. Start at St. James Lutheran Church in Lincoln Park to see windows of American opalescent glass by Chicago’s Kinsella Company. Next, head to Oak Park’s St. Giles Church, with its medieval-style windows by German firm F. X. Zettler, and see more examples of the so-called Munich style at St. Edmund’s Church. Travel to Little Village to see Epiphany Church, with glass designed by T. C. Esser in a style combining modern and medieval elements. Conclude at the chapel of St. Mary of Nazareth Church, featuring a dramatic window by the Willet Company of Philadelphia. Lunch is included.
