Bus Tour—Forging Culture: Bronze Sculpture in Chicago
Join Barbara Geiger on an excursion to see some of the city’s best—and least—known bronze monuments by such masters as Daniel Chester French, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, and Lorado Taft, who designed the fountain in the Art Institute’s South Garden. Then enjoy a private lesson in bronze casting with Lloyd Mandelbaum at his Chicago Crucible. After lunch, tour the Conservation of Sculpture and Objects Studio with director Andrzej Dajnowski, and wrap up the day with a look at a few more special sculptures.

Thursday until 8:00
The museum is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Free Thursday Evenings
Admission to the Art Institute of Chicago is free to Illinois residents every Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Please note: There will be a $15 surcharge ($12 for students and seniors) for Illinois residents visiting Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity during Free Thursday Evenings.
Late Friday Evenings for Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity
The exhibition only (not the museum) will be open until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, and Friday, July 5. General admission charges apply. Visitors should use the Michigan Avenue entrance.
