Artist Talk: Ursula von Rydingsvard

October 8, 2015
Fullerton Hall
Free with museum admission

Artist Ursula von Rydingsvard will speak about her work on the Bluhm Family Terrace at the Art Institute of Chicago. Bronze Bowl with Lace, the artist’s most ambitious sculpture, stands nearly 20-feet tall. Perhaps most striking is the intricate lace at the top, whose elaborate pattern is illuminated from within by a special lighting system, an effect that is particularly dazzling in so massive a form. The sculpture, monumental in both detail and scale, demands to be experienced from both near and far. There will be a reception and an exhibition viewing on the Bluhm Family Terrace from 7:00-8:00.
