Art and Language: Engaging the Body Through Art

October 8, 2016
Ryan Learning Center, Studio C
$50 / 5 CPDUs

Visual art and art museums can be powerful tools for language development and expression. In particular, they can help World Language and English Language Learners (ELLs) encounter language in dynamic ways, build vocabulary, and make sense of new cultural contexts. This workshop will focus on non-verbal communication and the use of art-centered, multisensory teaching strategies to help students communicate meaningful ideas regardless of their language proficiency level. This program includes facilitated experiences in the galleries and ideas for using printed materials and online resources.

Registration is required for this program.
