As they said on WBEZ earlier today, "It's Steve McQueen Day in Chicago." The exhibition Steve McQueenopens at the Art Institute today to members and in celebration, there are a slate of opening events tonight at the museum:
4:00 p.m. Screening of Hunger (2008)
6:00 p.m. Conversation with the artist
7:00 p.m. Exhibition viewing and free public reception
8:00 p.m. Screening of Shame (2011)
Oh, and did we mention that all of those events are completely and 100% free? But if you do want to keep the party going after that, there are still tickets available for After Dark, as well as an opening reception sponsored by the Evening Associates and Leadership Advisory Committee.
The exhibition opens to the public on Sunday and runs through January 6. And to listen to the whole WBEZ interview with McQueen, click here and look under Global Cinema.
